Holiday Giving at the Michigan Animal Rescue League
Hi. I’m Augie, the main man at MARL. Everyone thinks I’m just an old shelter dog who lays around and eats biscuits. Truth is, I’ve been watching over everyone while I enjoy my stay here at MARL. You could even say I’m like the resident Santa Paws, keeping track of who’s been naughty and who’s been nice. That makes me an expert on NICE! And you want to know a nice gift to give during the holidays? A donation to a MARL dog or cat!

Did you know you can make a donation and give it as a gift to someone? NICE! Check back to our page just before Thanksgiving for more information on holiday giving and see how YOU can give a very nice gift… and get on the nice list yourself!

Roy: Fur-ever Home Needed!
Are you looking for the perfect mellow kitty companion? Then meet Roy!

Roy has been in a foster home for quite some time now and he is in need of something more permanent. His foster mommy takes in the cats who need a bit of extra socialization to make their wait for a forever home more comfortable and less stressful.

Roy has come a long way and is ready to go to a home where he can lounge in the sun, look out the window and enjoy a space that's all his own. He is a big, gorgeous 5 year old cat who would make an ideal lap warmer, especially during the cold Michigan months ahead!

Meet Brenda & Legolas!

Meet Brenda & Legolas!
Ready for your heartfelt story of the day? Meet Brenda and Legolas!

These two have been at the shelter stealing our hearts for the last couple months and they're just waiting to steal yours too.

They are featured together because they are absolutely inseparable! They came to the shelter together, shy and scared, and are still struggling a little with adjusting to shelter life.

They are in need of a quiet loving home where they will get plenty of attention and patient care. If you come to visit them at the shelter, you will most likely find them curled up side by side. Once they start to warm up to you their true personalities will shine through, and it's only a matter of time until you fall in love!
