Thanks for exploring volunteer opportunities at Michigan Animal Rescue League (MARL). Following is a summary of our Volunteer Activities. Volunteers between the ages of 12 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
Cat Care Program - We need help cleaning, feeding and socializing kittens and cats. We ask for a minimum commitment of five hours per month.
Dog Walking - Available to committed volunteers who undergo a required basic training. Dog Walkers must be 21 years old and are required to work in our Cat Rooms for a designated period.
Fundraising - As fundraising and community events happen, we always need support!
Third Party Events – Volunteers can create unique events to raise funds. From pajama parties at school to Bowling and Block Parties, your event can be as creative and fun as you make it.
Fostering - We are in need of foster parents who can bottle feed kittens and care for litters for six to eight weeks in the Spring. We also need foster homes for puppies from time to time.
PetSmart Adoptions - MARL has a great partnership with PetSmart. Volunteers work as a team to transport animals for adoption events.
Transportation - On occasion we need help getting animals to and from events and to the vet for medical visits. If you can spare the time and the gas, please let us know!
Off-site Adoption Events - We often get requests to host adoption events at various locations. If you would like to help our animals find new homes, this is a great opportunity for you!
Activities for Kids - Children interested in helping us out are welcome. We have several off-site activities for kids 12 and under. Please contact marlvolunteers@aol.com for more information.
Community Service - Community Service volunteers are required to fill out a complete online application to be considered for service. Community Service volunteers must attend an orientation prior to beginning service.
The first step to volunteering at MARL is to pre-register. Once your application has been approved, the Volunteer Coordinator will set up an orientation time and date. Minors 17 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
For Community Service - Please fill out an online application.
