There is usually always a dog at the shelter that I am head over heels crazy about, usually they are busy, funny dogs that make me laugh.
My buddy Zeus is just that dog. I pretty much spend most of my time with him when I am at the shelter. He looks like a LARGE Boston Terrier, obviously came from a home that didn’t help him learn basic manners and is like an intelligent teenager that is aching for a job that will give him exercise and stimulation. I say he needs a family that has about 5 teenagers that all love him and all want to play and work with him.
Such a smart guy, when I put his collar and leash on to take him for a walk he grabbed his leash for a good old game of tug-of-war. I quietly took a hold of his collar and just sat silently. Since he could no longer pull he eventually let go of his leash and we started off for his walk. Shutting the gate behind us he found another opportunity to tug. I turned to him, reached my hand toward him and he dropped his leash.
Beautiful, energetic and brains on top of it.
Throw him a toy and he will retrieve it over and over, loves to run and play, just the kind of dog that makes you laugh over and over.
I will sure miss him when he finds his forever home.
